Livebearers

It doesn't follow that, because livebearers are hardy, they will tolerate lower temperatures. The only common exception is the Mosquito Fish. Mollies are particularly vulnerable to low temperatures and really shouldn't be kept below 20° C. Guppies will only stand temperatures below 15° C for a short while. But swordtails and platies can tolerate 10° C temperatures for periods of weeks or even months, though they don't thrive and so shouldn't really be kept as cool tropicals. Nevertheless they can be summered out in the outdoor pond once the morning temperatures are consistently above 15° C.
